How to change timing belt on a 1997 isuzu rodeo v6?

It's best to leave this to a skilled mechanic. The timing belt is what keeps the valve/camshaft operation synchronized with the piston/crankshaft operation. If you replace the belt and attach the new one with the wrong offset, you could do serious damage to your engine when you start it up.How to change timing belt on a 1997 isuzu rodeo v6?get a repair manual it will give you detailed instructions about how to replace your belt .. a good rule of thumb is to always put your engine on time so you can remove the belt and replace the belt without losing your timing , also make sure the marks are aligned and nothing moves when you replace the belt\How to change timing belt on a 1997 isuzu rodeo v6?Actually Isuzu did it right the V-6 engine timing belt is very easy. This is not a do-it-yourself job. Even experienced dealer mechanics screw this one up on a regular basis. You can do everything right and still end up with the cams out of phase which WILL result in bent valves. Isuzu even issued a TSB about this. We have one in my shop right now that experienced this very thing. All the timing marks were perfect, everything went together smoothly and it still smashed the valves after startup. The guys at the local machine shop said Isuzu heads are what keep them in business. And there are not a lot of these vehicles around!
